Ironically enough, "Judgement" only came around because I asked a friend to help come up with ideas that could fit the theme of "negative space", and he misunderstood and suggested the White Bored exhibit. (The first and last sections were the seed of the fic idea, but two things just seemed unbalanced, so I knew I had to do three or five.) It was the hardest section to figure out how to do, and the last one I managed to finish, but as soon as I got a couple of kernels in there (the whiteboard suit, the observation on reserving judgement/evolving judgement), Neal and Bancroft turned out to take the theme and run with it. After the initial "What the heck is this," it practically wrote itself.
...and I have to admit that I had a bit too much fun with the first and last sections. Mostly because of Blake and Diana.
