I really enjoyed this story. Fig is right, very few people write about this side of Daniel. And yet, we see it time and again.
Very nicely done. I would have liked to have known a bit more about what happened, but I also think that leaving me wanting to know more is a good thing. Sort of like the horrible monster you can always get glimpses of. Much scarier than seeing the whole thing.
This story is lovely in the rather sparse style you've used. Gives us lots of space to paint in with our own imaginations.
