I think the one time they did have to contact the Asgard, in Failsafe, they did through K'Tau's Hall of Wisdom, which never made much sense to me. I mean, there's a perfectly good Asgard phone on Cimmeria, and it seems to go to Thor, who likes them better than Freyr, and the people on Cimmeria seem to like them a lot better than the people on K'Tau on balance anyway. So I like to say that Thor is just really bad at picking up his phone.
