Oh, this is wonderful! One of my fiction kinks is "POV characters who don't understand or refuse to acknowledge their own state of mind", and that's developed wonderfully here. I also love how Diana and Peter both recognize instantly that this is going to be difficult for Neal to cope with, and that he's not handling it well, and each of them handles it in their own way. Also, lovely job with Christie -- I think you manage to bring her more alive in just a few paragraphs than the writers managed to do in four seasons ...
