It's a peculiar feature of my writing style that I can get up to 20k on a project and not have the first chapter finished yet.

(The first chapter is not 20k words. The first chapter is only about 5.5k words, which still seems excessive to me, but whatever.)

This story, if I ever manage to finish it, is going to be stupidly long.

My organization scheme makes sense to me, which is about what you can say for it. Also, you may notice that I have a bad habit of starting far too many things at once, and very few of them are wise projects by any stretch of the imagination. And then there are fics for projects and challenges and prompt fills for people that have been languishing in there for months upon months. But, you know, I'll finish them some day. Possibly. Maybe.

If you dont mind me asking, I kind of fell in lust with the "session target" display - what program are you using?

[EDIT] because my brain just caught up to thye fact that you said "Scrivener" - which version? I had Scrivener years ago, but I don't recall any session target viewscreen.

I've got Scrivener version 2.5, at the moment! I love it. It feels ridiculously overfeatured, but I like that I can mostly ignore the features I'm not using and learn them slowly as they become useful. I actually did a run of various screenshots on a few of the features I use a lot – keeping an entire canon organized in this project, using the index card views and colored labels to show what documents are in progress and which are complete, and split-screening so that I can work in one window and keep my meta notes up for reference in another.

The session target window is also absolutely lovely. The project target, too, though I've only used that on long-form original works, because I'm usually not aiming for a specific target on other things.
