...when you have to rip out the head and spinal cord of a story because you thought it would work in Jack's POV, but the story refuses to move forward unless the entire beginning is in Daniel's. And you liked that beginning. It was snarky.

( Anyway, this is the text which will NOT be starting off The Mansions Of The Dead, the intro/final installment in the Bead Sutra series. No spoilers, other than what planet they're on and the fact that something is about to happen. )

Summary: The infamous wooden beads leave SG-1. Life goes on.

In S6, starting in Sight Unseen (just after Unnatural Selection), a string of beads appeared on Jack's wrist. They were last seen in Full Circle, and by Fallen they were nowhere to be found. This series follows them, from incidence through departure, with a couple other stops as a bonus.

Jack walks into Daniel's office sometime when Jonas is asleep. They should all be asleep – Jonas and Carter and Hammond and even Teal'c, if you substitute kel'no'reem, and while the Jaffa meditation might not be the same as good, old-fashioned shuteye, it amounts to the same thing in the dark of the night.
